“Latvian Olympic Team” was established in 1994 with a purpose to facilitate  preparations of the Latvian leading sportsmen for participation in the Olympic Games.

Sportsmen selected for the LOV are entiltled to grants for their trainings and participation in the competitions. Grants cover financial aspects as well as coaching and medical support, training facilitation, logistical support and necessary equipment for participation in international competitions, and life and health insurance.  

LOV manages modern medical and rehabilitation center and physical capacity diagnostics laboratory. Rehabilitation center and laboratory are available not only for individual Olympic athletes but also for other leading sportsmen and national teams.  

LOV governing principles 

The activities of „Latvian Olympic Team” are guided by the administrative, financial and management provisions. 

LOV continuously improves training quality to facilitate high achievements in international comeptitions and the Olympic Games. The most important aspect of its work is preparations for the Olympic Games in terms of social, financial, medical and methodological support to athletes.

To be included in th LOV individual athletes are nominated by respective national sports federations and approved by the members of the LOV.
